What began as an exhibition style extension of my Aerie production series, evolved into a much more complicated endeavor. In this body of work, I get a chance to push myself with new forms and the precision of fitting pieces together, both hot and cold. While, technically, it is an opportunity to revisit past interests in hot-sculpting as well as embracing my recent background in tableware production, the juxtaposition of both techniques offers intriguing narratives contained in these “urban” aviaries.
