Located in the lobby of 1000 S. Clark St. in Chicago, this piece began its evolution well before the space even existed. Through ongoing dialog with the architects and interior design team at HPA, we were able to fabricate a piece that would compliment the colors, textures and furnishings of the lobby while being a standalone piece in its own right. In a high-rise building culture of elevators, the project’s main objective was to invite residents to climb the stairs to the extensive amenity spaces on the second floor. Constellation is made up of 16 pieces, each created with a subtle pattern that forces the viewer to get close to appreciate. Installed March 2016.
